A660 vs G660pts
Americans (Justin) v Germany (Chris)
"Bocage Bagarre’'
About this battle
With Justin's yellow gloved paratroopers eager to get out off the worktable and onto the game table, Chris' newly re-based Grenadiers keen to show off their newly revealed boots, 5 hours of prebooked, certified and ratified free time, a table with a blown up building, some hedgerows, a mesh of bocage and fridge of cold ale, all the ingredients were in place for just the right sort of evening.

The birds begin their morning chorus in a small corner of rural Normandy
A gentle breeze wakes the trees.
Is that smoke? Something on fire?
Hmmm. Evidence of recent activity...
...a
burning Stug....an abandoned Kubelwagen...looks like we missed a hell of party...
...and someone's parents are going to be really p*****d off!
Wait...the sound of leather on willow...as jackboots trample twigs...here are some German Grenadiers turning up to claim the day.
Unless these tough, fresh U.S. Paratroopers have anything to do with it!
Looks like the Yanks are eyeing up that nice two storey.
Grenadiers move through the wood and the tension in the ranks builds
Mortars take to the field
and setup.
What's that rustling sound? Chris getting out his snacks already? Or more German grenadiers? Turns out it's both.
Stormtrooper moves gives Jerry that little bit of extra reach.
These guys always seem to find the mud, even in a Summer crop.
I was wondering where these guys got to. The paratroopers rush forward and prepare to cross bocage
Apparently they had only just decorated as well...
The objective awaits...
General advance towards danger
What the?? Is it a bush? Is it a very large poisonous mushroom?? No! It's a sniper and radio guy!
HMG's (bottom) roll 24 dice to hit. Several do. No more sniper and radio guy.
The mortar in the background looks great. But he never ranges in. Not great.
This section decide to go on a jolly. Look at those blokes cheering them on. They love it! "Go on Sir!"
"Who can throw a pineapple the furthest?"
"Look at those guys over there playing baseball with grenades!"
Smokers hanging around the back of the building...
The krauts are are all over the objective without delay..
HMG's setup to cover the road, Grenadiers surround the objective.
Some Americans make it over the road. Some don't.
Sadly for this guy there are no tanks today. He knows he looks cool though.
The other lot of grenadiers advance towards the marsh with the mortar spotter tagging along.
The objective is covered as best as possible! American airborne assault imminent! Empty your bladders!
The mortar fails to range in again and pin the Germans...and with it being turn five, the Yanks have no choice but to assault or lose the game!
Fix bayonets!
Aaaargh! Eeeergh!
Slaughter. The remaining team is still up for it though and passes motivation.
The Germans take aim....
Americans concede. Gerrmans rejoice. Good game.Model Dads wish each other well played and analyse the game over the dregs of their pints.
